Students - most of you are using VCS-Guest WIFI which will work fine for most of what you are doing, but the WIFI called VCS-Student will give you direct access to additional resources on the VCS internal network. Performance on this network is also improved.
You will need to make a settings change for VCS-Students WIFI to access it. Your WIFI address has already been added into the system for HS and much of MS.
WIFI Settings Change:
- If you go to the Settings app (click on SETTINGS) on the iPad and click the WIFI settings option on the left. When you first go into this section of the iPad settings, you will see a spinning starburst indicating the device is currently trying to “discover” all wireless equipment which may include neighboring equipment.
When the wireless networks come up you will see 3 VCS wireless networks, click on the symbol adjacent to VCS-Students.
After clicking the arrow or greater sign, you will see the following screen in the next image shot. There are only 2-pieces of critical information that must be added onto this screen; Server & Port Number. In the Section that starts HTTP Proxy, click on the tab that reads Manual. This will enable the option of adding in the proxy server and port number. Add the information as shown below; SERVER = 192.168.2.174 and PORT = 805. That’s it.
After you make this change, return to the previous screen and select VCS-Student to access this network. You will be prompted from time to time for your network credentials to access external website content. Just use your student account (PowerSchool & Moodle login). Note: if the user-name you think you should be using begins with a G, you are not using the correct user-name. Please see front office for guidance.
